Our story
The months so far
A few moments from Melody and Jonathan's year.
February 2026
Starting our biggest adventure yet! We spent most of our time indoors because it was freezing in February! We did manage to get out to the Schaezlerpalais.
March 2026
Exploring Bavaria with our Brötchen (little bun). In March we visited Walhalla, the Margravial Opera House in Bayreuth, and the charming town of Bamberg.
April 2026
We finally found permanent housing and got to hang up the first pictures of our little boy. The “morning” sickness was pretty bad in April so it was mainly Melody drinking smoothies and Jonathan putting together furniture.
May 2026
Melody first started feeling our boy move around in May! We are so lucky that we live so close to so many beautiful places like Garmisch-Partenkirchen! Also pictured is the estate near our home and the Munich botanical gardens.
June 2026
June brought about more check-ups, lake days, and getting ice cream every time we went out. The ice cream is a very important part of the culture here. Jonathan could feel our boy moving around and he is really active!
July 2026
There is no loss of festivals here so we made sure to get out to Olympiapark to enjoy food and music. We couldn't stay away from the mountains so we had to visit Oberstdorf and into a Klamm (gorge). We had some of the best Kaiserschmarrn (think chopped up pancakes with lots of butter, almonds, rum raisins, powdered sugar, and a side of apple sauce). It has become very apparent that our boy likes good food because he does a happy dance after every tasty meal.
August 2026
Another month, another (2) trip(s) to the mountains. Look at that beautiful baby bump! Melody is making pregnancy look good! This month has been a whirlwind. We took a trip to Berchtesgaden, an unexpected trip to Oberammergau, and had more check-ups. Melody is really not appreciating the relapse of some of the first trimester symptoms.
First trimester fun
Fun fact: Melody hasn't vomited once this entire pregnancy despite coming very close.
